Interesting fact: Anyone who has spent more than 5 minutes at the resort will already be aware of the magnificent trees that feature throughout the resort. Many of which are over 50 years old. Interestingly is the fact that there is not a single coconut tree in the resort. Even before construction this was the case…and in this somewhat strange fact lies the interesting history on the area. Throughout most of Thailand coconut trees dominate the beachfront. The reason is that it provided the best source of income for farmers, given the sandy soil types common along the beach.
So the obvious question is why didn’t local farmers plant coconut trees on the site? Well the previous owners were members of the Thai Royal family, so they were not in need of revenues from coconut trees, and instead planted a (strange) mix of trees, predominantly Tamarind trees, Eucalyptus trees and Pine trees. Mystery solved !!
X2 Kui Buri is located on a pristine and peaceful Haad Sadet (Sadet Beach). The word Sadet refers to the royal household, and often places that were frequented by royal family in days gone by were named “royal” for that reason. Given the reason for the lack of coconut trees, and the name of the beach it is now clear that this particular area was a favorite amongst a particular royal.
X2 Kui Buri offers guests 23 unique designed style villas, comprising of 1 Royal Villa, 1 Luxury Pool Villa Suite, 2 Deluxe Oceanfront Pool Villas, 15 Deluxe Pool Villas and 4 Deluxe Garden Villas. The villas range from 70 sq.m to 255 sq.m. in size. Furnishings and fixtures in the villas were chosen to be consistent with the X2 concept for luxury in design and function. The resort features a romantic outdoor beachfront swimming pool complete with state of the art facilities and a range of recreational activities; kayaking, boating, fishing, snorkeling, mountain biking and pétanque facilities.
